Dungeons of Dredmor

In Dungeons of Dredmor, the player is sent into a dank, dark dungeon ruled over by Lord Dredmor and patroled by his countless minions, especially “Diggles;” what Fraggles turn into if you feed them after midnight.

Notes:

Dungeons of Dredmor is much more challenging when using random skills…

…however, my favorite skill-set yet has to be Staves, Viking Wizardry, Promethean Magic, Blood Mage, Ley Walker, Assassination, and Archaeology.

Gain useful experience in farming various dungeon fungi.

Sell items to the greasy merchant by shift clicking the item in your inventory. I made quite a few piles of junk before I figured this one out.

Archaeology: “It Belongs In A Museum” works by casting it on an item with a (funny) name. “This Translation is All Wrong!” also requires a named item. “Ancient Kronian Ritual” unfortunately can only recharge an Anvil of Krong once.

Fleshsmithing: This skill contains the spell “Knit Tissue,” a healing spell, along with a grab-bag of other tricks including a defensive buff and a Zomby pet. Very handy to have around.

Play with Permadeath turned on.

The random Bitcoin address at the bottom of the sidebar, intended as a way to ask for donations, has been replaced with the BitcoinPlus Widget. This allows visitors to mine me a few Bitcoins with their spare processor time via the magic of Java, while I get to do my part in asking for free money. To quote an old Ferengi proverb: “Why ask, when you can take?”
As stated on bitcoin.org and the Bitcoin wiki:

Diablo II: The Abyss

Added SEO data to the page.

Circuit-bent Value Village toy — It pretty much sounds like a nightmare, but a few nice tones are achievable. I added a knob that effects the pitch, a mono RCA out, on/off switch, and a switch that changes the capacitor used to play the note. The capacitor switch effects the decay of the note. Who knew?

Some more wine stoppers are up on Etsy! This series of wine stoppers are made with opaque colored frit and amber-purple frit, creating the interesting aurora-like pattern embedded in the clear dome. Frit is glass that has been crushed and when used in lampworking, forms patterns of dots. They are approx. 5cm tall and 3cm in diameter, tapering to 2cm at the narrow end.

This short was floating around the nether regions of my hard drive awhile ago and I posted it on YouTube. It’s about Mr. Clean’s tolerance for the shortcomings of others. Mr. Clean is the guy with the cape, played by Adam Roy (whose brainchild this is.) I did the soundtrack using Sonic Foundry Acid and its generic, default loops. The way it times up to the movie was coincidental, but useful.

Though it says 2004, I think its from a few years earlier. 2004 seemed like a safe number.

In this EP, fat beard and I explore the existentialism of existence through a combination of the Gameboy’s 4-bit audio chip and Speak and Spell samples. Among those are also some samples from the classic video games Duke Nukem 3D and Starcraft. The EP was thrown together using Renoise, Reaper, beer and weed. I also managed to lose the master of the first track. Fuck.

update – Diablo II: The Abyss v 1.2

The files have been up for testing for a couple weeks now and everything seems to be working in this massive update. The Abyss can now be installed via setup and has a launcher built in so that the original, unmodded version of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction can be run at any time (including a version of the launcher for use with D2MultiRes.)

The change in version number format is to reflect the version of the launcher program.

The following changes in the game have been implemented:

	New background screen for TCP/IP game menu that I found in the game's files
	New Loading Screen based on some Diablo 3 art of Rakanishu or something.
	New Amazon skill: Quickness
	New sound for manipulating Arcane Runes in the inventory
	Bone wands/Grave wands and their counterparts are now correctly flagged as 'bone' type items

Blizzard is currently working on Diablo II Patch 1.13. I’m not sure if the mod will be compatible with it or will require my attention once the patch goes live. All this means is this will be the last content update for the mod until Patch 1.13 is released. More information on Patch 1.13 is available on Blizzard’s forums.
